VILLAGE SOLUTIONS FOUNDATION
COMMUNITY SOLAR PROJECT
Village Solutions Foundation Pathway 2045 Solar Farm will be focused on distributing the benefits of solar and energy resiliency directly to our community.
Community solar is a system of solar panels that are collectively owned by a group. The power generated is pooled together and sold through a subscription program to individuals. Any of our local community partners that have the space and capacity for solar will have the opportunity to build a system connected to our network that remains in their ownership. The solar system network will be developed and maintained collectively by its partners and customers themselves! For involvement in the development and community commitments of the project, sign up your group to participate as we build this program.
As Dr. King said in his 1967 Christmas sermon: “ It really boils down to this: that all life is interrelated. We are all caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied into a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly. … Did you ever stop to think that you can’t leave for your job in the morning without being dependent on most of the world? … This is the way our universe is structured; this is its interrelated quality. We aren’t going to have peace on Earth until we recognize this basic fact of the interrelated structure of all reality.” - Martin Luther King

Subscribers can come from single or multi-family buildings and typically save between 15%-20% on their bill when switching. They (and other locals) will also have direct access to workforce development programs offered through our ambassadors to explore a career in green energy if they wish.
Energy storage will help prepare us for energy emergencies and natural disasters. When the next energy blackouts hit, our community organizations/solar panel hosts will be open to provide backup energy on site for medical needs, charging devices, and other emergency power uses.
Solar energy is a way for us to move away from cancer and asthma-causing pollution that has been hurting our people. We must divest from nonrenewable energy for the health of our planet and ourselves. Subscribers will also be decision makers in the network’s organization and operations.
